In 2023, restoration work to the Temple of Esna in Luxor Egypt, that had been ongoing for several years was finally unveiled. Among the images revealed was the figures of the zodiac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s hard to track down the images, so here’s what I’ve managed to find:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gemini<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cancer<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leo<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Portions of the constellations can be seen in this image from before restoration. Notably, Cancer is easily visible under Leo:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Archaeologists also believe this odd depiction of a small bull’s head attached to a much larger leg is a depiction of the big dipper:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
