Today’s project: Finish the scale.<\/p>\n

The process on this was very straightforward albeit tedious. At the edge of each line for a degree, I made a slight notch with a razor knife. For each of the 810 transversal dots, I took a small nail and hammered it lightly.<\/p>\n

This left a very clean set of marks for me to follow.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

From there, I needed to mark the lines such that they would be visible when taking measurements at night. My original plan was to use a very narrow brush and paint it on, but even with my smallest brush, it was still unwieldy. So I tried a Sharpie and it worked beautifully.<\/p>\n

To help ensure the scale was easy to read, I did every 10\u00ba in the normal Sharpie size marker and every other degree with the ultra fine. On the 5\u00ba marks, I did short lines in the thick Sharpie to help make them easier to find.<\/p>\n

Overall I think it turned out quite nicely.<\/p>\n

So at this point the only thing left to do is a bit of clean up and mount some sort of sight. We’ll likely be taking care of that on Sunday and potentially taking it out for a test drive soon!duas<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
